FREERCTV.COM – Independent Short Film on Censorship

May 23rd, 2011

This Independent Short Film was made by a group of journalists concerned about freedom of expression in Venezuela. It includes footage never before seen outside of Venezuela and contains videoclips that date back to the year 2001.

It is presented here by the New York-based Human Rights Foundation (www.thehrf.org) as part of its Free RCTV campaign to document the Venezuelan government’s ongoing assault on freedom of the press in that country. We believe the test of democracy is freedom of criticism.

By direct order of the Venezuelan president, the last remaining nation-wide independent television station in Venezuela, RCTV, was shut down on May 28, 2007. We invite you to join us in saying no to censorship. Visit www.FreeRCTV.com to find out more.

Duration : 0:9:19

Independent Short Film: Power of 10

March 27th, 2011

I’ve seen this Independent Short Film many years ago, but it’s still interesting, and does qualify as a short film, even though the narrative is educational and not fictive in nature.
